MECI History

MECI, Inc. was formed on October 1, 1995 as a support-only entity, providing contract services to machine tool builders, importers and end users nationwide. Our machine tool sales department formed several years later, primarily due to strong customer demand for products as reliable as our services. Our service background gives us the unique ability to understand the importance of strong after-sale support. All of our technical and applications personnel worked for machine tool manufacturers prior to joining us, so our service and support offerings are builder-level. The service people we employ are, without exception, factory trained and certified. Our after-sale offerings include a full range of field service, preventive maintenance, specialized training, turnkey and automated applications support. We have the ability to serve virtually all of your machine tool needs and provide the highest level of sales and service support for all new and used machine tool users. Our approach to total customer support is simple and focused. MECI’s machine tool product lines are selected for solving diversified metal-cutting applications while delivering the highest specifications for all budgets.

MECI Purpose

MECI is structured to provide technical services and support to CNC machine tool users throughout the New England States. Primary services include scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency field service, and peripheral equipment installation and automated system integration. Support offerings include custom and turnkey applications engineering, contract programming and specialized on-site training. MECI also offers a comprehensive line of turning, machining centers, and “swiss type” CNC machine tools to customers throughout the New England States. This transition to a full service machine tool distributorship began in June of 2000 with the acquisition of the Johnford, Topper, and You-JI Product Lines, imported by Absolute Machine Tools, Lorraine, Ohio. This is a full line of high quality CNC turning and machining centers, marketed exclusively by MECI. MECI also represents the KSI line of "swiss-type" CNC lathes and the Milltronics line of “conversational” type on turning, machining centers, and tool room machines.
